Camper-Counselor Kickball has been an Arrowhead tradition since forever. Counselors raid our costume closet and dress up in a way that matches their kickball skills.
Sidenote: If you have any old, classic, vintage, outdated or outrageous clothing items/accessories... we gladly accept donations for our costume closet.
PSA: Please ask for permission before you raid your parents' (grandparents' or husband's closet.

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
The Good: Our Shepherds Spring Retreat was fantastic. A big thank you to all of our staff and volunteers for making the trip to Arrowhead from Shippensburg, Cedarville, Liberty, and Lemoyne, LBC and a handful of places in between.
The Bad: We had great weather for the retreat, allowing us to enjoy hayrides and pedal carts. It felt like summer. Everyone wished the weekend wouldn't end. It's too bad it's not June 1st.
The Ugly: Poor lighting, plenty of shadows, eyes closed, that tilt-a-whirl feeling and little fuzziness. This photo is terrible but our LBC class is beautiful. Thanks for all your hard work and dedication this past weekend as our James Project group. What a blessing!

TBT - FREE PARKING
The field at camp made for a great parking lot and Lake Arrowhead Tabernacle was the place to be.
We've been known to do the same, especially when hundreds of folks come out for the Special Olympics Bocce Ball tournament in the fall.

TBT - Intentional Space
"Camp was one of the best experiences of my life." That's a pretty common quote from folks of all ages. So, why is camp such a special place where lives are transformed?
We believe camp is NOT all that special. In fact, we think it's pretty normal. On an average day at camp we eat food, play games, sing songs, hang out with friends or go swimming. So, what's the difference?
Camp is place that gives people the time, the space and the relationships to stop, rest and listen. That's something we don't do on an average day. It is also a place where we spend time with God all day! We pray, read the Bible and build a relationship with God (and people)... all things that God says should be part of an average day.
Camp seems like this extra special place where God does amazing things because we are living the way we should be every day.

Arrowhead Bible College
Self Portraits, Pictionary and Pizza... just some of the key components of Leadership Dynamics in Camping Ministry.
This weekend was the first of three for the Leadership course I teach as an adjunct faculty member at Lancaster Bible College. Our weekend was an intensive look at leadership personalities, structure, healthiness, critical components and practical knowledge all geared towards success in life after college.
Next up, the class will be back at Arrowhead for more class time and to serve as our James Project group for the Shepherds Camp spring retreat.
Then it's down to Lancaster for the third weekend to finalize projects, make presentations and change the world!

TBT - Tough as Nails
Camp nurses are extraordinary people. They apply band-aids with a comforting smile and a gentle touch... and I bet they could amputate a leg with a pocket knife and some Lysol if needed.
Thankfully, we are tried and true with the first and not the second.
